Season Four begins with Dean awakening dazed and confused in a grave, having been rescued by an angel named Castiel on orders from God. Sam has further developed his abilities with the help of Ruby during the four months that Dean has been dead. It is soon revealed that Dean was revived to help stop Lilith's plan of breaking the 66 seals, which would let Lucifer walk free once again. In the season finale Sam kills Lilith, but her murder is the final seal. The angels also wanted the seals to be broken, because when Dean defeats Lucifer, they can usher in paradise on Earth. Ruby reveals she has been manipulating Sam since they first met, and Dean kills her in revenge. With Sam having killed Lilith, and ultimately breaking the final seal, Lucifer is now free. The fifth season pinpoints on Lucifer and the signs of the upcoming Apocalypse.

Sep 15th, 2009 Jeffrey Dean Morgan Joins The ‘Red Dawn’ Remake

who is watching “Watchmen” actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s career will surely tell you the same thing — the man’s keeping busy. Already filming “The Losers” and hoping for a role in “Lobo,” Morgan will soon sign on the dotted line for yet another well-known franchise.

According to Variety, Morgan is nearly set to star in “Red Dawn,” the modern update of the 1984 classic. The new version is directed by Dan Bradley from a screenplay by Carl Ellsworth and Jeremy Passmore.

The new “Red Dawn” focuses on a group of teenagers that form a guerrilla resistance against Chinese and Russian soldiers that have invaded the United States. Morgan is set to play the leader of a U.S. Special Forces team that discovers the teenage freedom fighters.

Aside from Morgan, “Red Dawn” stars “Star Trek” actor Chris Hemsworth and “The Wackness” lead Josh Peck as Jed and Matt Eckert, the two brothers previously played by Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen in the first film. The on-screen collision of Hemsworth and Morgan represents a clash of different comic book properties — Hemsworth is starring in “Thor” for Marvel, while Morgan’s already featured in the aforementioned “Watchmen” and “The Losers.”

Sep 15th, 2009 Jeffrey Dean Morgan Wants To Play Lobo

With Guy Ritchie announced as the director for “Lobo,” it’s only a matter of time before the main man himself gets cast. I’ve already listed some of my suggestions for who should play Lobo, but there’s another actor that’s vying for the role—and despite his former status as a Comedian, his designs on the last Czarnian are hardly a joke.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, in his chat with Movie Web, said that he really wants to come back for at least one episode before the show ends for good this season.

Sep 10th, 2009 DVD Review: Guilty Pleasure ‘Harper’s Island’ Could Become Cult Hit

CHICAGO – I’m still a little miffed that the “Harper’s Island” experiment didn’t work out for CBS. The show was far from perfect, but I still like the idea of a limited series with a predetermined beginning, middle, and end. Sadly, no one tuned in to watch “Harper’s Island” on CBS but the guilty pleasure could have a second life on DVD.

Was “Harper’s Island” any good? It depends on what you mean by “good”. If you’re looking for witty dialogue, detailed character, and clever plotting, look elsewhere. But not every show needs to be intellectually satisfying. For the same reason we go see silly horror movies, sometimes you just want to enjoy a guilty pleasure and “Harper’s Island” was the guiltiest of 2009.

Elaine Cassidy plays Abby Mills, the heroine returning to the titular body of land after seven years. Back then, a twisted soul named John Wakefield went on a horrible killing spree and one of the victims happened to be Abby’s mom. She’s a little fragile as the ghosts of the island return to her and she is forced to deal with her father (Jim Beaver) again. Oh, he just happens to be the sheriff who killed the bad guy the first time around. Can he do it again?

Sep 10th, 2009 The Watcher: ‘Supernatural’ has evolved beyond angels and demons

The first half of “Supernatural’s” debut season gave few indications of what the show would become.

Back in 2005, as is the case now, there were monsters, ghouls and demons on the prowl. Two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester (Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles), would go from city to city in their 1967 Impala and hunt these otherworldly critters down, frequently quipping along the way.

But creator Eric Kripke is well aware that “Supernatural,” which returns for its fifth season at 8 p.m. Thursday on WGN-Ch. 9, has evolved far beyond the idea he pitched several years ago.
